Elope to Key West
Since we offer simple weddings, it’s not unusual for us to receive last minute requests. For many reasons, lots of couples elope to Key West. As long as we are available, we can make your wedding plans in very little time. Last Tuesday just before 11:00AM, I received a phone call from Brian. He and his wife-to-be, Michele, had arrived that morning on a cruise ship and were at the Key West county courthouse obtaining their marriage license. They wanted to get married before their ship departed at 2PM. We met at Smathers beach and I pronounced them husband and wife by noon. Gary took some posed photos around the beach. By 1:00PM they were standing on Duval Street in front of Sloppy Joe’s. Whew…talk about short notice! It’s a good thing Key West is a tiny island.
